Name Change and the Problems.

Use
Backspace Key on your computer to return to this page. This is computer technical stuff.-- This is to prove I know what is needed. I never tooted my horn as I did not need more work as my fingers are bad shape because of arthritis and become very swollen with too much work To the left are files that have had their name changed and the some of the old files before the name change. . The file that ends with (#100) may had a name added to it perhaps twice or oftener. First it may have began with only (AB1) and then perhaps (AB 001) as I persuaded people to use at least two zeros. I corrected many such at this by add two zeros or words before the number, then the number sigh (#) messed every thing up. Then at one time the (words in
prentices ) was added. The accessions with the short name were still on this
accession file however they had to be saved as Brian described and then with
Global Command the two would be made into one. The Accessions that were added after the Name change beginning of the long name with the name in Prentices therefore no short name.

| .A bit lower the one with Railroad was changed and is still showing the
last and two previous location. Two volunteers and I had nearly 90
percent of these completed when the total file was deleted. . Help came from two members of the NCHS< Dorothy and Diane after some instruction as to what Gomez wanted us to do. This was adding the short names which would later be merged in with the long name. Some of these got deleted before I put password on the commuter as Brian Gomez recommended. You try and explain about these unattached photos to someone that have had no computer experience and you have problems. I tried to explain this to the board at an earlier time and it fell flat, One board member said "There seems to be a difference of opinion and likely does not make that much difference." and another drew on a single sheet of paper how to attach the unattached photos. A computer program can be messed up with a comma instead of a period. |
